Sonya Mbonyinshuti- Salon Director/owner

I Have been hairdressing for over 14 years now and owned La Boutique Hair & Fashion since the beginning of 2007 with my husband Simon. I have been a part of designing and directing hair for many photo shoots and catwalk shows, and working alongside some of New Zealand’s top models including Miss New Zealand 2009 Magdalena Schoeman and supporting her selected charity ‘Variety’. One of my highlight over my hairdressing career would be directing Hair for one of New Zealand’s largest catwalk fashion shows ‘Style Christchurch’ the past 3 years, which is always an inspiring event for myself and the amazing team here at La Boutique.

I work with the best team ever, and the very best part of my job is seeing them grow, flourish and expand their skills in hairdressing and also in their personal lives.

It is evident from the first moment you walk in the salon the atmosphere of team work, friendliness, hard work, and creativity, to make you feel and experience something unforgettable.

This is all credit to each of the staff we employ. We don’t just want you to be only happy with your hair, but come away feeling uplifted inside and out.

Cath Broome- Style Director/ Manager

I have been hairdressing for 19 years both in New Zealand and overseas. I have worked in a variety of different salon environments that specialize in many different aspects of hairdressing which has really taught me a great deal and helped me become a very well rounded hairdresser and leader.

I brought my wealth of knowledge and skills to La Boutique at least 3 years ago and love being in the roll of salon manager.

I love our team here and our vast variety of clients that walk through the doors. The varieties of clients keep your days interesting and your creative juices flowing from one client to the next. I love creating natural and flattering styles to suit my clients individual needs.

What I enjoy most about hairdressing is making someone feel good about how they look, and it is something we have the opportunity to do every day as hairdressers.

It is really great to be a part of a team who values these same things.

Sya Downie – Style Director

I have been hairdressing for 8 years and are incredibly dedicated to this industry. I previously worked at La Boutique for 2 years before leaving for some other opportunities, but have returned to this amazing new premises to work with our great team once again.

The most rewarding part of my job is making my clients look and feel great. I am constantly up skilling by attending seminars and shows to keep up with the new trends and styles coming through each season. I have had a number of highlights throughout my career from creating hair at catwalk shows to seeing some of the worlds best stylists at work.

My personal work is influenced by all eras, and I love to mix old with new creating individual elements for each client. I encourage all clients old and new to come check us out, we have a stylist to suite every need. Look forward to seeing you soon.

Michelae’ Reeves - Salon assistant

My job is to assist all the stylist here at la Boutique.

I love the experience I have gained in working in this amazing team situation. We have a cross section of clients whom are mostly regulars and very loyal.

I have enjoyed getting to know them over the past year that I have been working for La Boutique. Working with this team has been the best ever experience as a introduction to the workforce. I love working at La boutique as the girls and the clients are all fantastic. I would like to thank the girls for being so lovely and treating me like an equal as in most salons the assistants are not. I Hope to be a part of this salon for a long time.
